Realm Hoppers

A species that consumes spirits & spiritual energy for sustenance. They can move between the physical/spiritual realms at will, and see into either realm from the other side.

Their ability to "absorb" spirits & their energies makes them highly susceptible to possession by more powerful spirits, so entering the spirit realm is quite dangerous for them.
They generally hop quickly in & out, staying just long enough to take what they need to.

This realm-hopping is the main cause of spirits existing in the physical world - They sometimes slip through when corda cross. They have quite a negative stigma among other species, due to their otherworldly looks and association with the negative spirits that they occasionally set loose.

Corda voices sound like a mix between hang drums and soft strings - they are very musical and communicate through hollow tapping/plucking chirps and a variety of humming tones. This furthers their disassociation with most species - they are not capable of recreating the sounds of traditional language. Some are able to communicate telepathically, but it is a talent more commonly found in possessed individuals.

** May exhibit traits of powerful spirits if consumed. Generally not worth the risk.

** Talented in magic arts. All are capable of item levitation/magical manipulation, but very few actually master more exotic types of magic.

** Lifespan varies. The more often they consume spirit energy, the longer their lifespan.

** Manipulate objects with telekinesis. All corda have this ability!

SPECIES RELATIONSHIPS

** Most commonly live in small familial groups. May be found as stragglers in various cities, or traveling merchants.
Poor ability to communicate with other species.

LUMINAH:
Lumi are spiritual, and generally unafraid of spirits. They don't fear Corda, and have the friendliest relationship with them of all the sentient species.
Luminah cities tend to have a lot of spiritual energy, and corda visit them frequently.

JU-MOH:
Rival species. Corda are no friends of spirits, and consume them for energy. Ju-moh, on the other hand, bond with spirits willingly.

WEAVERS/MOANA:
Somewhat poor relationship with these... Most weavs & moa are fearful of spirits, and fearful of Corda or the spirits they may be chance set free.
They have difficulty communicating with each other, but weavers/moana can sometimes be found working as translators within groups of corda.

POSSESSED CORDA

**White Pupils. There are no set physical signs that an individual is possessed aside from this, though they are very likely to show traits that reflect the spirit's own form.

**Are usually capable of normal speech, unlike normal cCorda.

**Can have very dark coats.

**Will never be found within a community of corda.
