This is a species capable of storing, channeling and concentrating magics, making them excellent magic users... however, they are not capable of producing this magic themselves.
They are born completely magic-less, feeble, and small. Like corda, they are capable of seeing into the spirit realm/communicating with the spirits within. They usually have a long childhood, and much of it is spent in meditation, interacting and forming friendships with spirits (that tend to come and go).
When/if a child forms a deep enough friendship with a spirit, they may invite it to bond with them/inhabit their body. When bonded, they grow instantly to their final/adult form, which varies dependent on the power/type of spirit involved, and develop their magic abilities. The exact circumstances that allow the spirit to cross vary, but most commonly involve being in the
